Need Window Treatments in Your Kitchen

The kitchen is often the most used room in the house, but many people don’t have the right window treatment for this much-loved space. Maybe it doesn’t resist moisture or high heat. Perhaps it can’t tolerate the grease or spills that sometimes mark a kitchen. If you need to upgrade or update your window treatments, speak with a consultant at Shutter Guy. We’ve been serving the Charleston area for years, and we’ll be happy to help you find the right treatment for your needs.

Kitchen Window Treatment Options

You have four categories of window treatment to select from for your kitchen. Each one offers unique characteristics, from how they control light to how they operate.

  • SHUTTERS are classic and add value to your home; they come in wood, faux wood, and vinyl materials and in a variety of slat sizes. They add privacy and energy efficiency too. In high-moisture areas, consider faux or vinyl shutters.
  • SHADES come in fabrics, weaves, natural fibers, and vinyl materials and offer numerous opacity options. They can be lifted traditionally from the bottom, lowered from the top, or both (called top-down/bottom-up), providing you with both light and privacy options. To add a more contemporary look to your kitchen, look at Hunter Douglas Designer roller and screen shades, Duette® Honeycomb Shades, and Provenance® Woven Woods. For a more traditional look, consider Design Studio™ and Vignette® Modern Roman Shades. But remember, shades made from fabric may be susceptible to grease and food stains.
  • BLINDS can be made out of aluminum, wood, faux wood, and vinyl. They have the ability to be rotated open or close and come in a variety of slat sizes and colors. For kitchens with high moisture, a good choice would be aluminum or faux wood blinds, such as Hunter Douglas Everwood® Alternative wood Blinds or Modern Precious® Aluminum Blinds. They never go out of style, can be cleaned fairly easily, and are a good value.
  • DRAPERIES AND TOP TREATMENTS can add the finishing touch to your kitchen windows. Plus, you can change them with the seasons to create a whole new look at your window. Select from ready-made or custom-whichever meets your budget.
