Working With Specialty Shaped Windows
Windows come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including some that add architectural interest, such as octagons, ovals, eyebrows, trapezoids, and more. Cathedral windows, skylights, and Palladian windows also offer visual excitement for homes. If you have a room with a specialty window and are trying to decide how—or whether—to cover it, talk to a trained consultant at Shutter Guy here in Charleston, SC. We’ll be happy to help you determine which blinds, shades, shutters, or draperies will work and perform to your specific needs and desires.
For Specialty Shaped Windows, Less Is More
Not all window treatments can be used to cover specialty shaped windows. For example, a regular window can be open and lowered, whereas a specialty shape window can only be partially opened or not at all. When possible, work with the architectural structure of the window. Too many lines in and on a window can be confusing and take away from the beauty of the specialty window. If you don’t need privacy and the light is not an issue, the specialty windows are beautiful untreated!
