Updating With Color
Have you been looking at your home and feeling like it’s a little out of date? You’re not alone. At The Shutter Guy here in Charleston, many of our customers itch to update their homes and often ask how they can do it. One quick way is to bring in current trends in color. By adding a little or a lot, you can make some big impacts to how dated your home might otherwise seem. Read on to learn more!
Today’s Hot Colors in Interior Design
We follow the trends in color to help you select the best colors for your window treatment, décor, or walls. We’ve found, for example, that Tinted Gray is very popular these days. Gray has long been popular in interior design, and now we’re seeing a move to add different tints—such as purples, blues, or greens—to give it more life and personality. We’re also seeing more and more range from Purple, from dusty lavender to pale lilac. As a base color or an accent, it can really add depth to a room. Especially if it offers hints of gray, Dark Green is definitely on trend. We’re seeing lots of Vibrant Citrus Colors, such as bright yellow, electrified coral, or zaps of orange, which speak to a carefree positivity in the space. Terracotta is definitely making a comeback this year with its earthy essence and Southwest flair. Plus, it’s great to combine with complementary reds, greens, yellows, and blues. Speaking of Blues, we’re seeing some lovely blue in homes. Think softer than navy and warmer than denim to hit a happy medium. Or go with a bolder shade—just be sure to balance it with neutral colors like white or gray in the room.
