A New Color Every Year

At The Shutter Guy here in Charleston, many of our customers like to be on trend—with the newest fashions, technologies, and gear. Which is why we like to keep everyone up to date about trending color choices—so people can be on top of the latest fad that will touch all of those industries and more. Read on to learn what this year’s Color of the Year is!

The 2019 Color of the Year

Last year’s Color of the Year was bold Ultra Violet, which symbolized unconventionality, mysticism, and spirituality. This year, the Color of the Year is PANTONE Living Coral, which “is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope of color,” noted Pantone. The hue’s golden undertone offers warmth and peacefulness and provides relief in a continually shifting environment. “Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities,” noted Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial PANTONE Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”

Using Trending Colors in the Home

Now that you know about this year’s color, you might be interested in adding it to a room or two in your house. Consider using Living Coral on your walls, window coverings, custom bedding, accent pieces, or even kitchen gadgets and appliances to create a tranquil retreat and more. To complete a sea-like ambience, add some complementary colors to offset the specific coral hue. For example, you could get decorative throw pillows in aqua and a vase or two in seafoam. As you bring in the color, remember that you can do it any way you’d like—add a little or add a lot; it’s up to you. But remember, there will be a new trending color next year, and if you don’t want to blow the bank on updating your décor every year, you might keep your new additions on the smaller side.
